Bernie + Mark | Great Ocean Road Wedding

It’s easy to take where you live for granted. Then, when you take the time to stop and breathe it in again, you remember just how amazing a place it is. For me, that’s the Great Ocean Road. When Bernie and Mark asked me to be their wedding photographer we took a trip along the Great Ocean Road to check out a few of its (many) spectacular views, a few of which are particularly special to them as a couple. I’ve travelled that road many times but taking a slow cruise along it and sharing the sights with others made me appreciate it all over again.

Bernie and Mark held their ceremony at Newtons Ridge Winery, which is roughly an hour south-east of Warrnambool. It’s a hidden gem that set a fantastic backdrop for their wedding. And what a wedding it was! Watching Bernie and Mark exchange their vows and unite not just themselves but also their families was something really special to be watch and celebrate (and of course there were many Brady Bunch related jokes throughout the day). We travelled back to Warrnambool along the Great Ocean Road, occasionally stopping at beaches and look-outs before arriving at Ginger Kitchen at Deakin University for the reception. (Ginger Kitchen is now known as Brother Fox). It was an amazing day that for me ended perfectly with Bernie and Mark quietly dancing beside the Hopkins River in the dusk light.
